The holidays are right around the corner, and it's the perfect time to update your family photos and create beautiful images for your holiday cards. This year, I'm opening up a limited number of holiday mini sessions in my studio on Saturday, November 28, and Saturday, December 5 2026!

I've created two festive holiday sets to give you a couple of beautiful options for your portraits. Choose a cozy, rustic white barn backdrop surrounded by snowy evergreens and lanterns, and step into a magical winter wonderland filled with twinkling golden lights, snow-covered trees, and a little holiday sparkle. Both sets are included in the photoshoot.

The sets offer a beautiful setting for family portraits, children's photos, and those special images you'll love sharing with family and friends this holiday season.

Holiday Mini Session Details

• Dates: Saturday, November 28, and Saturday, December 5, 2026

• Includes: 10 professionally edited digital images
• Availability: Just these two dates will be available for holiday themed sessions! Once they are booked that’s it!
• Clients: Immediate Families Only! No more than 8 people.

These sessions are perfect for holiday cards, gifts for grandparents, updated family portraits, or simply capturing a little holiday magic while the kids are still little.

Because I'm offering a limited number of sessions, I encourage you to reserve your spot early. Once the available appointments are filled, I won't be adding additional sessions for these dates. Sessions are booked on the half hour for a little time to get settled in and a short break before the next family.

WHY A MINI SESSION?

Sometimes you don't need — or want — a full family portrait session. You just want some great, updated photographs of the people you love without spending an hour trying to keep everyone smiling and engaged.

That’s exactly what these sessions are designed for.

In about 20 minutes, we can capture a nice variety of images, including the whole family together, parents with the kids, siblings, and a few individual combinations. The sets are festively themed to look like a tree lot so we’ll have lots of fun with this one, even though it’s indoors!

These are particularly great for families with younger children. If your little ones have short attention spans, you know that sometimes 20 minutes is the sweet spot before everyone starts losing interest. A shorter session means less waiting, less posing, and less opportunity for little ones to decide they're simply done with pictures.

They're also perfect if you're looking for updated photographs for holiday cards, gifts for grandparents, framed prints around the house, or simply because it's been far too long since you've had a good family photograph with everyone actually in it.

✨THE IMPORTANT PART ABOUT MINI SESSIONS✨

These are true mini sessions, which means we'll be working on a schedule. Sessions are booked in 30-minute time slots, with approximately 20 minutes of actual photography time.

Because of that, these sessions work best for families who can arrive on time and be ready to go when their alloted time begins. We won't have the extra time available for outfit changes, extensive posing, or getting everyone settled once you arrive.

I also recommend keeping clothing simple and bringing only what you need. The more prepared everyone is when you arrive, the more time we can spend actually photographing your family. I even suggest arriving a few minutes earlier than your start time to get ready and just wait patiently until I finish photographing the family before yours so you are ready to go when your start time begins.

If you are late for your session you will only be given the timeframe that you had booked as I will have additional families to photograph after each session. No refunds for no shows or late comers.

Unfortunately, pets won't be able to participate in these mini sessions. With only approximately 20 minutes of photography time, there simply isn't enough time to effectively work pets into the session while keeping the schedule on track. If you would like photographs with your pets, a regular family session would be a much better option and I’m happy to set that up for you.

🌦️ Weather Policy:

These are indoor studio sessions, so it will be a rain or shine event. No weather cancelations.

A signed contract and full payment are required to reserve your spot. Your session is not considered booked until both have been completed. You will have 24 hours to do both once the contract has been sent. If you do not sign the contract or pay your deposit within 24 hours we have the right to cancel your booking and make it available for someone else that may need it.

We have two Saturdays reserved for this scheduled shoot. The first one is June 27th and the second one is July 25th to accommodate families with only weekend availability. We have two kids sized aprons with lemons on them as well so that we can do some photos with and without the aprons if you would like.

I love end of summer senior portrait sessions! And getting to see my friend’s grown up children. I can’t believe how fast it goes, seems just like yesterday I was photographing Rebecca and her son when he was n elementary school and now he’s ready to take on the world!
We had a great time hiking around the red rocks to capture this rock star’s final year of high school! September and October is the busiest time of year for senior portrait photographers as most deadlines for yearbook submissions are in October. We field a lot of calls form panicking parents who still need to get their photos done! If you are one of those parents I still have weekday availability and possibly some very early Saturday mornings… feel free to give us a call to discuss options for your high school senior.

Fall mini session examples from our 2024 Photo Shoot!

Each session we will include a couple different full family poses, separate groupings such as individual parents with children, children alone, parents alone and individual shots with a few different background options. Grasso Park offers a lot of options in a tight small park. There are no hills or stairs to climb, but if anyone has any disabilities or needs special accommodations please let us know.

One thing we can not guarantee is how much the trees will have changed or the weather! I try to set these sessions around the peak of the fall foliage season with weekend dates that we still have open, but it always varies from year to year. Unfortunately, we only had this one Saturday become available for hosting the photos! I cross my fingers for a beautiful day with abundant color and leaves still on the trees! But be aware that nature is going to do what nature does and we’re just at it’s mercy! If the forecast calls for cloudy and overcast, but not torrential downpours we will still be doing photos! So please dress accordingly.

One of my favorite family sessions that I offer is photographing the very start of a family during the mother's maternity. Nothing makes me happier than capturing the beauty that is motherhood. It's a very special time in a woman's life it's a time of contempaltion of both the life they've had before a child and the one coming afterwards. It's also a time of excitement along with worry of the uncertainty of it all and the perfect time to document all of these emotions before a baby comes into this world! We can do photos out in nature alone or with a partner or even in our studio if you want to show more skin and a naked baby bump.
